Not sure if I’ll keep this up like last night, I won’t have reactions to every pick but here we go.
33. Jacksonville: Tyson Campbell CB Georgia
A little surprised after signing Shaq Griffin in free agency and they have CJ Henderson. Having 3 CBs is fine but I would have taken a pass rusher but clearly they have more confidence in K’Lavon Chaisson from last. I think he’s a bust. Campbell is a great athlete.
34. New York Jets: Elijah Moore WR Ole Miss
Damn it, I hate it when the Jets get a good player. He’s a blur. This might spell the end of Jamison Crowder if the Jets look to save some money.
Moore joins Corey Davis and Keelan Cole to really improve the Jets WR corps.
Is this Davis Mills or Kellen Mond? Say goodbye to Lock
35. Denver: Javonte Williams RB North Carolina
My favorite RB. Melvin Gordon is going to hate this pick but Broncos fans will love him. They lost Phillip Lindsay in free agency and upgraded with Williams. Love this guy, Offensive Rookie of the Year sleeper. Beast.
Sorry to Royce Freeman, your chance to get touches just ended unless they jettison Gordon. They could send Gordon packing.
36. Miami: Jevon Holland S Oregon
Good center fielder, can cover in the slot. Anyone who could take playing time from Eric Rowe makes your team better.
Picks are rolling in, love it.
Patriots traded up. Hell Yeah!
37. Philadelphia: Landon Dickerson OL Alabama
Great player, his knees are made of paper mache.
38. New England: Christian Barmore DT Alabama
Well damn. I really like the Patriots pick again. That never happens. He’ s a beast inside and this is great value. That’s two Alabama players, can’t say I’m against it. Moved up but didn’t give up too much, they have extra compensatory picks. My only question, where was the Patriots Legend to call the pick? We got Rog, was Tom Brady busy.
39. Chicago: Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma St.
Great choice. Awesome value. Fields just got some real help up front. He can take over at RT and possibly move to LT in the future. Bears are doing well. They needed this guy.
Back to the Patriots pick, if Brady couldn’t do it where was Ty Law. I loved Ty Law. Get me Ty Law.
40. Atlanta: Richie Grant S UCF
Okay, their defense sucks and all their safeties left.
41. Detroit: Levi Onwuzurike DT Washington
I think he’s a little undersized but outside of Michael Brockers the Lions don’t have much at DT.
Dan Campbell is going for linemen, I’m shocked. Don’t expect a lot of flash from Detroit.
42. Miami: Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame
Solid choice. Maybe RT, maybe OG.
Uh oh. The Raiders just traded up. Get ready for another “wait, what?” pick.
50/50 shot they draft a guy from Clemson or Alabama. Maybe Ohio St. Did they just trade up to get CB Shaun Wade from Ohio St. He’s expected to go in round 4 or 5, he’s the less talented version of Damon Arnette who they over drafted in Round 1 last year.
43. Las Vegas: Trevon Moehrig S TCU
Okay, an actual good choice. He really helps their secondary. He’ll cover up a lot of deficiencies from their CBs and Jonathan Abram in coverage.
44. Dallas: Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky
Got their CB. He’s no Surtain but he will be pretty solid for them. He’s better than most of what they have.
45. Jacksonville: Walker Little OT Stanford
This could be a major steal. He will beat out Cam Robinson as long as he’s healthy. He’s long and talented. Hasn’t played in two years but he has all the tools.
46. Cincinnati: Jackson Carman OT Clemson
Big dude. He can play OG for now and move out to RT if they need him when Reiff leaves.
47. LA Chargers: Asante Samuel Jr. CB Florida St.
This is the guy I was hoping the Patriots were trading up for a few picks ago. He’s a really good cover guy and the Chargers got a good one. He can start for them.
48. San Francisco: Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame
He’s huge and immovable. He should pass block well for Trey Lance, I wonder if he fits their running game. He’s little stiff.
49. Arizona: Rondale Moore WR Purdue
This dude is electric if he stays healthy. Good pairing inside with Hopkins outside.
50. NY Giants: Azeez Ojulari OLB Georgia
At one point I had the Giants taking him in the first round. Apparently he has an injury issue that knocked him down. He’s a freak athlete and if his injury doesn’t linger, he’s a star.
51. Washington: Samuel Cosmi OT Texas
He can start at LT. They need a LT. He’s better than what they have.
52. Cleveland: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB Notre Dame
This is a great choice, huge value. He’s a bit of a tweener and I think that hurt him. He’s so fast and hits like a missile. He can start in Cleveland. The Browns defense could be scary good.
53. Tennessee: Dillon Radunz OT North Dakota St.
Tennessee needs a RT, he will get shot there.
54. Indianapolis: Dayo Odeynigbo DE Vanderbilt
I have nothing to say about a DE from Vanderbilt with a torn Achilles.
55. Pittsburgh: Pat Freiermuth TE Penn St.
Good TE. He’s a good athlete but not a huge game breaker. They need some TE help and he was easily the second best TE in this draft.
56. Seattle: Dwayne Eskridge WR Western Michigan
Gadget guy, inside receiver. He’s not big but he’s fast and he’ll play all special teams. A little strange with Tyler Lockett playing inside quite a bit.
Rams win the draft with a rented Malibu mansion as their draft room with a portrait of Roger Goodell on the wall.
57. Los Angeles Rams: Tutu Atwell WR Louisville
Fast dude. He’s small but good luck finding him. Sean McVay will use him in space and Matt Stafford will love him.
58. Kansas City: Nick Bolton LB Missouri
Good middle LB prospect. Not sure this is good for Anthony Hitchens future in Kansas City. Bolton isn’t the biggest guy but he’s a force at MLB. They drafted Willie Gay last year at LB and now they get him a long-term partner.
59. Carolina: Terrace Marshall Jr. WR LSU
Good size and height. He goes to Joe Brady and will give Sam Darnold another weapon. They have DJ Moore and Robby Anderson but Marshall was just too good. He’s better than the OTs left.
60. New Orleans: Pete Werner LB Ohio St.
They need help at LB. I like him better than their first round pick.
61. Buffalo: Carlos Basham Jr. DE Wake Forest
The Bills double down on the pass rushers. Basham is another power rusher. Interesting pick. He can move inside and rush on passing downs.
62. Green Bay: Josh Myers OG/C Ohio St.
He can play inside either at guard or center. He’s a big dude inside. They can decide if he plays center or they move Elgton Jenkins to center. I like Creed Humphrey more but it’s understandable.
63. Kansas City: Creed Humphrey OC Oklahoma
Interesting pick after signing Joe Thuney, Kyle Long and Austin Blythe on the interior of the offensive line. Thuney is for sure the LG next to Orlando Brown Jr who they traded for at LT. So Long, Blythe and Humphrey will battle for the other two interior spots. Long is coming off a retirement year so we will see how that plays out. I thought this might be a RT but perhaps they try Long moving outside, he has the length. Blythe and Humphrey are strictly inside guys.
64. Tampa Bay: Kyle Trask QB Florida
I understand but I don’t really like it with Davis Mills and Kellen Mond on the board. He’s a statue so they better keep the offensive line stacked up. I did call this at one point. One thing, will Tom Brady be retired by the time Trask’s four-year rookie contract is up.
Alright. That’s round 2 in the books. I’m done with the live reactions here. Stay tuned for my Team Draft Reviews when the draft is over. The draft is a puzzle, lets see how it all comes together.
